“It’s literally the only thing we have in common.”
An unplanned interaction has developed into an unlikely bond between two Sydney neighbours.
Harry Choo recently saw David Franco out the front of their Sydney apartment block.
“Excuse me,” began Harry. “Can I ask you how much your strata levies are?”
The potentially intrusive question drew a surprisingly warm response.
“Yeah, it’s $1750 a quarter,” said David. “I’ve been meaning to ask other people around here because I’m worried I’m getting ripped off.”
The pair had a vigorous discussion about strata levies and how much they eat into their household budgets.
Strataville understands they have bumped into each other again since, but their conversations have not extended beyond strata levies.
“It’s getting a bit awkward to be honest,” says David Franco. “I’m never sure whether I should ask him about his family or whatever. At least we have the strata fee angst in common.”
Strataville will keep you updated on this burgeoning friendship.
