A building inspector appointed under this Division is to carry out an inspection of the building work, and provide an interim report, not earlier than 15 months and not later than 18 months after the completion of the building work.
The interim report must—
be in the form and contain the matters prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this section, and
without limiting paragraph (a), identify any defective building work of a kind required by the regulations to be reported on, and
if reasonably practicable, identify the cause of that defective building work.
